I/O Descriptors

• Programs read and write to Input/Output streams

• The three most commonly used: STDIN, STDOUT, STDERR

• A program asks you “What is a dog?” on its STDOUT. You tell it “a kind of flower” on its STDIN. It responds “You are an idiot.” on its STDERR.
