Rust: typically IOPS mechanical head seeks hurt :’(

NAND: typically throughput + endurance fragmentation doesn’t require seeks but too much fragmentation still hurts! (media banks normally R/W in parallel)

Memristors: typically availability + cost hard to find, expensive, low capacity inexpensive devices may be sharply throughput-limited (eg: consumer Optane)
